At this morning’s special school board meeting, the board approved setting the technology levy amounts at $200,000 each for both the elementary district and the high school.

Voters will see two separate technology levies on the school election ballot. This will be a mail-in ballot election, with ballots scheduled to be mailed in April.

Additional details about the school election will be shared in the coming weeks to ensure all stakeholders have the information they need to participate and vote.

We had a student that contracted bacterial Haemophilus influenzae meningitis over the weekend. The student is now hospitalized and undergoing treatment for the condition.

Read the guidance document we received from County Health: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15NWhUQuYXf6npWzcG76EuGNsyfbwNI81/edit?usp=drive_link&ouid=102770218494721624186&rtpof=true&sd=true

These bacteria can live in the nose or throat and spread through close or prolonged contact, such as coughing, kissing, sharing drinks, or living in close quarters. At this time, please remind children to cover their mouth when coughing, to not share drinks, and to wash their hands regularly.

Students and families are urged to seek immediate care from qualified medical professionals if their child complains of severe headaches with a fever, symptoms which worsen quickly, or if the child seems unusually confused, difficult to wake, or very ill.

The Stillwater-Billings Clinic is aware of the incident and is ready to answer calls about specific questions you may have. The Clinic can be reached at 406-322-1000.

Our district has seen quite a few SPAM email messages filter through in recent weeks. The latest one was sent out to our parents as well. If you have received a message from Mark Ranstrom, either from his personal account or school account, with the subject: ITEMS FOR SALE; please do not respond, click on any link, or send money! Mark it as SPAM and delete it afterward.

Please be wary of messages such as these. If you know the sender personally, call or text to ask questions! This will protect yourself and your information. If it seems strange or “too good to be true”, it probably is.
